SUMMARY:CEO Connect: Allison Lamey\, Lowell Plan and LDFC
DESCRIPTION:We are taking our original Young Professionals CEO Roundtable Event and making it virtual! This is a great opportunity to connect with community leaders. Come hear their inspiring stories and ask them a question (or two)!\n\n\n\nThis session features Allison Lamy\, Executive Director of The Lowell Plan and Lowell Development & Financial Corporation.\n\nAllison Lamey is the Executive Director of the Lowell Plan\, and the Lowell Development & Financial Corporation. The Lowell Plan and the LDFC are distinct private non-profit organizations that share a common mission: to ensure Lowell is a successful thriving place for all to live\, learn\, work\, and grow a business. The LDFC was created to assist in the economic revitalization of Lowell by offering low-interest loans to incentivize commercial and residential development. A key role of the Lowell Plan is to provide a regular forum for private and public sector representatives to discuss and develop strategies for revitalizing Lowell. The Lowell Plan also runs a civic engagement program for emerging leaders: Lowell Plan Public Matters.\n\nPrior to joining the Lowell Plan and the LDFC\, Allison worked for the City of Lowell in the Department of Planning and Development serving as the Community Development Director and later as the Director Economic Development. During her 14 year tenure with the City she worked closely with public\, nonprofit\, and for profit organizations to support housing\, economic development\, and public infrastructure projects. Allison managed more than $5 million in federal grants in support of social service programs\, affordable housing development\, and neighborhood improvement projects. She also helped secure more than $250M in private investment from companies relocating and expanding in Lowell bringing over 2\,000 new jobs to the city.\n\nAllison received both a Masters Degree in Regional Planning and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Design\, from the University of Massachusetts\, Amherst. Witnessing the transformation of the city\, growing up\, inspired Allison to study city planning in college. Born and raised in Lowell\, she is delighted to be a part of the redevelopment activities now taking place in the City.\n\nAllison is active in the Lowell community\, currently serving on the Board of the Cultural Organization of Lowell (COOL) and the Board of Corporators for Lowell General Hospital. She also volunteers as a mentor for start-up companies through EforAll. She lives in Lowell with her husband and three school-aged boys.\n\nThank you to our 2020 Platinum Sponsors Enterprise Bank\, Circle Health\, and Jeanne D'Arc Credit Union for making events\, like this one\, possible. \nThank you to Circle Health our 2020 Young Professionals sponsor.
