SUMMARY:Breakfast with the Greater Nashua Chamber: Could a Southbound Exit 36 be on the Way?
DESCRIPTION:The Greater Lowell Chamber of Commerce is partnering with the Greater Nashua Chamber of Commerce on a very special breakfast event\, and we hope you'll join us!\n\nLast year\, The Nashua Regional Planning Commission and Northern Middlesex Council of Governments were hired to conduct a feasibility study for a new project that would create a southbound exit ramp at Exit 36\, located very close to the state line separating NH and MA. Exit 36 currently only has a northbound exit\, so adding a southbound exit ramp would allow people to access the Pheasant Lane Mall from both directions much more easily than is currently the case. This new southbound exit would\, in turn\, significantly alleviate traffic congestion along the DW Highway shopping district in southern Nashua\, while also providing a significant opportunity for the Pheasant Lane Mall to host a commuter rail station in the future. It therefore serves as an important economic development opportunity for both northern Massachusetts and southern New Hampshire.\n\nOur breakfast event on December 18 will provide an opportunity for business and political leaders to hear a presentation from those officials overseeing this project\, in which they will publicly share the results of their feasibility study. We also plan to have elected officials from both NH and from MA present at this event to offer their reactions to the feasibility study. \n\nThis is a great event at which to educate yourself on a major economic development project in our region\, while also enjoying an opportunity to network with members from the Greater Nashua Chamber of Commerce! A hot breakfast will be provided\, so there is a registration fee for the event.
