Discussion Leader: Hans Riemer, President of Market Vantage
Topic: Selling in 2020 – How the Buying Process has Changed, and What You Must Do About It
If you could build a machine that magically spit out a $5 every time someone put in a $1 bill, wouldn’t everyone buy one?
Surprisingly, the answer is “No.” Selling is no longer simply the process of finding a qualified buyer and providing compelling evidence of value or ROI. Need proof? Martyn Lewis of Market-Partners, Inc. recently interviewed hundreds of salespeople and thousands of buyers, only to conclude that our long-held beliefs in the Sales Process have become myths. He published his findings in a new, groundbreaking business book, “How Customers Buy … And Why They Don’t.”
Chamber member Hans Riemer recently attended a workshop featuring Martyn Lewis and found confirmation of his own long-held belief, that lost sales are not necessarily due to a failure on the part of the salesperson, the process, or the messaging. Rather, it’s a disconnect in the way people buy versus sell today. Buyers in 2019 don’t behave like the buyers of the 1990’s.
If your sales and marketing strategy is still based on old, solid, established principles, then your business is at grave risk. Come listen, learn and discuss how buying and selling has changed, and the steps you need to take now to ensure your organization’s viability.

This is an interactive session. Please come prepared with any questions that you have and a willingness to share tools and methods have worked for you and your business.

The Greater Lowell Chamber’s mission is to provide opportunities for our members through education, marketing, networking and advocacy. This event features opportunities through education and networking.
