Topic: Protecting Small Businesses from Phishing Attacks and Other Email and/or Digital Threats
Today, we are all vulnerable to email borne security threats such as ransomware, phishing and spear-phishing, both in our personal and business lives. According to Yu Cai, Associate Professor and Program Chair of computer networks and system administration at Michigan Technical University, over 90% of cyber attacks nowadays start with phishing emails. This session will provide an overview of the current threat to small businesses as well as cost effective strategies for protecting against malicious threats. We will also discuss the importance of ongoing employee training and education as well as how this training can be developed and instituted.
